Burgundian soul meets American soil at Domaine Drouhin, the leading Oregon producer run by Veronique Drouhin. Situated atop the Dundee Hills, the site was selected for its remarkable similarity in climate, latitude and aspect to the legendary vineyards of Burgundy. They produce wines of distinction, balance, elegance, and longevity, including two acclaimed Pinot Noirs cuvees and a very limited amount of Chardonnay. Their wines have been highly rated by wine critics including Wine Advocate, Vinous, James Suckling etc. Decanter has once declared their white wine as “best of the New World”.
Distinct aromas of gooseberry and wildflowers welcome you to the glass. As the wine opens, notes of apricot, grapefruit, lemon zest and white peach emerge. On the palate, the essence has a candied quality, with a mix of fennel and almond and finishing with a touch of citrus and soft spices. The texture is beautifully rich, while still maintaining its fresh character.
