Kilchoman Machir Bay and Sanaig 20cl Gift Pack (2x20cl)

Kilchoman Distillery was established in 2005, becoming the first distillery to be built on Islay, Scotland in over 124 years. The distillery was founded in 2005 by Anthony Wills and is Islay’s farm distillery, producing Single Farm Single Malt Whisky. Kilchoman is one of the few whisky distilleries in Scotland to remain independent and making whisky in the traditional way. Terroir means the complete natural environment in which a particular wine is produced and if we are to consider the concept in the context of Whisky, then perhaps Kilchoman’s 100% Islay range would possibly qualify (being produced completely on site, matured and bottled at site i.e. from barley to bottle) to be characterized to capture the terroir of Islay. Tasting Note: Machir Bay soft cooked fruits with strong peaty aromas. Mixed fruit, vanilla with long finish. Sanaig Caramel and vanilla aroma, toffee, peat smoke and citrus with sweet fruity finish. These are part of Kilchoman core range and showcases the two main type of cask maturation: Ex-Oloroso Sherry and Ex-Bourbon.
