Bodega Benegas is one of the most historical wineries in Mendoza. Tiburcio Benegas was the founder of Trapiche (now Penaflor), in 1883. After selling off most of the business, this family kept some of the vineyards and a small winery and converted them into a smaller operation focused on high quality wines. This traditional winery is on the border of neighboring wine regions Maipu and Lujan and houses fine French style blends and single varietals including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese and Syrah.
The owner’s fantastic collection of ponchos from around Argentina, and harvesting equipment dating back almost 100 years, provides unique backdrop for learning and tasting. Informative tours and attractive surroundings make this a memorable visit.
