The 20 hectare vineyard of Chateau Fonbadet is planted to 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 2.5% Petit Verdot and 2.5% Malbec. The vineyard is located off the D2, in walking distance from Chateau Lynch Bages and just a bit further up from Chateau Pichon Lalande.
The terroir is gravel and sand soils. The vines are old, with many vines at more than 50 years of age. The vineyard is planted to a vine density of 10,000 vines per hectare.
