Its terroir is characterised by deep, well-draining gravel soils overlying a clay-limestone subsoil, a composition that imparts both elegance and structure to its wines.
The 2013 vintage presented significant challenges across Bordeaux, demanding meticulous vineyard management and rigorous selection in the cellar. Cantemerle navigated these conditions adeptly, producing a wine that, while not possessing the power of warmer years, offers a refined and classic expression of its origin.
