Buildings with no lift are HK$50 per floor, or we can leave the order with the concierge.

Yes, by FedEx. Transit is usually three to seven business days, plus customs clearance, which varies by country. The minimum service charge is HK$400 and our quotes include insurance.

You do, on delivery. Please check your local import rules before ordering.

If duties go unpaid or documents are not filed before the clearance deadline, we cannot be held liable if customs destroys the wine, and no refund or exchange is possible in that case.

In our own temperature-controlled warehouse. Everything is sourced from reputable, mostly family-owned producers, and our in-house sommelier checks authenticity and provenance.

Occasionally, yes, and we would rather warn you than surprise you. We sell the same cellar through more than one channel at once, and stock counts can take a day or two to catch up across all of them. So once in a while a bottle sells out between your order and our pick.

If it happens we contact you straight away and give you the choice: wait for the next shipment, swap it for something close, or refund that line. We will not leave you guessing.

The last few bottles of a line, usually one to five. When they sell out the listing drops off the site by itself, so what you see in Bin Ends is genuinely still here.

Yes. Our Back Vintage Choice runs from 1974 through the 2010s, mostly Bordeaux, and most of it is exclusive to us. Aged properly, priced to drink rather than to auction.

Pre-order bottles take roughly eight to twelve weeks to reach Hong Kong, and we ship them the moment they land.

Pre-orders cannot be cancelled once the order is confirmed.

Heat and swings in temperature are what ruin wine here, not age. Aim for a steady 12-18°C, out of sunlight, away from the kitchen and away from any window that catches afternoon sun. Lay bottles on their side so the cork stays wet.

A Hong Kong flat in August sits well above that, so if you are keeping anything for more than a few months a wine fridge pays for itself. We stock them in wine fridges.

Roughly: Champagne and sparkling 6-8°C, crisp whites 8-10°C, fuller whites like white Burgundy 10-12°C, light reds such as Pinot Noir 12-14°C, and full-bodied reds 16-18°C.

"Room temperature" in Hong Kong is far too warm for red wine. Twenty minutes in the fridge before serving makes more difference than almost anything else you can do.

The grandes marques and the prestige cuvees: Dom Perignon, Krug, Salon, Louis Roederer including Cristal, Ruinart, Taittinger, Laurent-Perrier, Billecart-Salmon, Bollinger, Pol Roger, Charles Heidsieck, Perrier-Jouet, Veuve Clicquot and Delamotte, alongside grower Champagnes.

Yes. Yamazaki, Hakushu, Hibiki, Nikka and Yoichi on the whisky side; Dassai, Aramasa, Kuheiji and Okunomatsu on the sake side, plus umeshu and Japanese liqueurs.

A second wine is made by the same chateau, from the same vineyards and the same team, using the parcels or younger vines that do not go into the grand vin. Les Forts de Latour, Pavillon Rouge, Carruades de Lafite, Les Tourelles de Longueville, Echo de Lynch Bages and Clos du Marquis are all second wines.

They drink well far younger than the grand vin and cost a fraction of it, which makes them the most sensible way into classed-growth Bordeaux. See Bordeaux second wines.

Roast meats, soy and ginger all fight heavy tannin, so reach for medium-bodied reds with soft tannin - Pinot Noir, Burgundy, cooler-climate Rhone - and aromatic whites like Riesling or Chenin Blanc. Champagne is the safest bet of all with roast goose, crisp-skinned poultry and anything fried.

Spicy broth flattens tannin and amplifies alcohol, so big oaky reds are the wrong answer. Go for something chilled with a touch of sweetness or a lot of bubbles: off-dry Riesling, rose, Champagne, or a light chilled Pinot Noir.

High acidity, no oak. Chablis, Muscadet, Sancerre, dry Riesling and Blanc de Blancs Champagne all work. With sashimi specifically, a good junmai daiginjo sake often beats any wine on the table.

Fat and char need tannin to cut through them. Cabernet-dominant Bordeaux from Pauillac or Saint-Julien is the classic, Napa Cabernet is the richer option, Barossa Shiraz the bolder one, and Barolo works beautifully with a fattier cut.

HK$400 to HK$800 already buys a name the recipient will recognise - a grande marque Champagne, a named Bordeaux, a good single malt. HK$800 to HK$1,500 gets you classed-growth Bordeaux or a prestige cuvee. Above HK$2,000 you are into trophy bottles.

Yes. We only sell alcohol to customers aged 18 or above, and the person receiving the delivery must be 18 or above.

Yes. Single-bottle wrapping with ribbon and flower is HK$150, and a single-bottle gift box with flower is HK$300. Message us and our gift concierge will set it up.
