Domaine Faiveley’s flagship monopole, the Clos des Cortons Faiveley, occupies a prime mid-slope terroir on the hill of Corton in Aloxe-Corton. As one of the few Grand Crus in Burgundy allowed to bear the proprietor's name, this site produces Pinot Noir characterized by immense structural integrity and deep limestone minerality. The 2022 growing season yielded fruit of notable richness and clarity, balanced by restrained extraction and fine French oak elevage.
Bottled in a 300cl Jeroboam, this large-format bottle provides an optimal thermal environment for extended maturation, allowing the firm tannins and dense fruit core to evolve gracefully over decades.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby with violet reflections. The nose reveals brooding aromas of dark cherry, wild bramble, crushed iron, and game, underlaid by fragrant notes of clove and toasted cedar. The palate is broad-shouldered and deeply layered, featuring muscular yet finely polished tannins and striking mineral acidity. A monumental finish delivers enduring notes of dark berry preserve, earthy spice, and wet stone.
