Region
Viognier comes from Condrieu in the northern Rhône and is fussy about place — too warm and it loses acid, too cool and it fails to develop aroma. The Yarra Valley's cool conditions hold the acidity.
Variety & Style
The variety's signature is intense apricot, peach and white-flower aroma over a dry palate. That gap between smelling sweet and tasting dry is characteristic, and it is why the variety catches people out on first encounter. Medium to full bodied and oily in texture.
What to Expect
Very expressive on the nose, but not a wine to drink all evening on its own. It suits food, or small pours. If you want something crisp and thirst-quenching, choose Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc.

11–12°C. Thai, Indian, roast chicken, almond-based starters.
