Burgundy from the négociant houses and domaines we buy in depth: Bouchard Père & Fils, Louis Latour, Louis Jadot, William Fèvre, Faiveley, Olivier Leflaive, Vincent Girardin, Chanson and Leroy, alongside smaller growers such as Lucien Jacob, Bachelet-Monnot and Clotilde Davenne.

Why buy Burgundy from a house rather than chase a grower: at village and 1er cru level the big houses are consistent year to year, available in quantity, and cost a fraction of the allocation-only names. A Bouchard Beaune 1er Cru or a William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru will out-drink a fashionable grower's Bourgogne at the same money almost every time.
