Capanna, established on the cooler northern slopes of Montalcino, produces classic Sangiovese defined by structural balance and extraordinary longevity. The 2015 Riserva captures the essence of a benchmark Tuscan vintage, where warm daytime temperatures and cool nights allowed for optimal phenolic ripeness while preserving vital acidity.

Selected from the estate's finest parcels, the fruit underwent prolonged maceration before maturing in traditional large Slavonian oak casks for over three years. This restrained oak regime preserves the northern sector’s signature minerality and aromatics, yielding a Brunello with firm, fine-grained tannins, nuanced complexity, and immense cellar potential.

Tasting notes

Deep garnet in the glass. The nose delivers complex aromas of dark cherry, dried violet, pipe tobacco, crushed leather, and a distinct ferrous minerality.

On the palate, it is full-bodied and tightly structured, anchored by dense, refined tannins and vibrant acidity. Concentrated flavors of black plum, blood orange zest, and dried herbs lead into a long, savory, lingering finish.
