Louis Latour Santenay 1er Cru La Comme 2023 is a Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru vineyard La Comme in Santenay, Côte de Beaune, made by Maison Louis Latour, the Beaune house founded in 1797.
The south-east-facing plot takes its name from the local form of "Combe", as it continues the Combe of Saint-Aubin. The vines average 25 years old on clay and limestone and are picked by hand. The wine is fermented in oak barrels, goes through full malolactic fermentation, and is aged for 8 to 10 months in medium-toasted French oak barrels from Louis Latour's own cooperage.
Louis Latour describes the 2023 as an intense ruby colour with hints of raspberry on the nose. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, with hints of pepper and a lovely freshness, and a very long finish.
Serve at 15–17°C with rabbit terrine, beef in wine sauce, foie gras with apples, or Brie. Can be kept for 5 to 7 years.
