Region
Watervale is the best-known Riesling sub-district of the Clare Valley. Its limestone and red loam give wines more floral lift and slightly softer acidity than the rest of Clare.

Variety & Style
Bone dry, unoaked, with a straight line of acid. Lime, white flowers and minerality. Clare Riesling is among the most internationally regarded of Australian white wine styles.

What to Expect
Young Clare Riesling is usually closed on opening — do not judge it immediately. It opens considerably after twenty to thirty minutes in the glass. This is also the wine in the collection with the highest cellaring potential at the lowest price: after a decade it develops honey and kerosene notes, which are a virtue in this style.
