Old Pulteney is distilled in Wick, on the north-east coast of the Scottish Highlands. This limited edition from the Coastal Series is first matured in second-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks, then moved into Ruby Port pipes and Ruby Port barriques from Portugal's Douro Valley.
No age statement, 46% ABV, 70cl.
Tasting notes
Appearance: rose gold with a soft peach edge.
Nose: sultanas and candied orange, then buttery vanilla, marzipan and gingerbread spice.
Palate: baked apple and cinnamon opening into vanilla custard and warming spice, with coastal brine cutting through.
