Orma Tenuta Sette Ponti 2020 (1x75cl)

Orma, from the esteemed Tenuta Sette Ponti, represents a compelling expression of Bolgheri DOC, a prestigious appellation on Tuscany's Etruscan coast. This region, renowned for its unique microclimate and diverse soils—ranging from clay to sand and pebbles—provides an ideal environment for the cultivation of Bordeaux varietals.

The 2020 vintage of Orma is a meticulously crafted blend, typically comprising Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Tenuta Sette Ponti's commitment to showcasing the terroir is evident in their viticultural practices and precise winemaking. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by maturation in French oak barriques, a portion of which are new, imparting complexity and structure while respecting the fruit's integrity. This careful ageing regime allows the wine to develop its characteristic depth and elegance before bottle release.

Tasting notes

The 2020 Orma presents a profound aromatic profile, revealing concentrated dark fruits—blackcurrant, plum, and blackberry—interwoven with nuanced notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, and a subtle graphite minerality. On the palate, it is full-bodied and impeccably structured, with a core of ripe fruit balanced by firm yet polished tannins and a vibrant acidity. Layers of dark chocolate, espresso, and a hint of balsamic emerge, leading to a persistent and elegant finish. This vintage demonstrates significant ageing potential, promising further complexity with cellaring.
