Domaine Lesuffleur La Folletière (sweet apples) 2020 (1x75cl)
Domaine Lesuffleur La Folletière (sweet apples) 2020 (1x75cl)
In May 1967 Queen Elizabeth II lunched at « Au Caneton » in Orbec, Normandy — the visit is recorded in press photographs of the day. The cider on her table, the family's own back label tells us, was her grandfather's. Three generations later the domaine still grows, presses and bottles everything on the same Pays d'Auge hillsides.
La Folletière is the roundest of the range — from the father's low-branch single orchard in La Folletière-Abenon, planted 1996 and certified organic since 2023, led by sweet and bittersweet apples over silt and flint on chalk.
- Blend: 15+ varieties — 50% sweet & bittersweet (Bisquet, Binet Rouge…), 25% bitter, 25% sharp
- Method: hand-picked, indigenous yeasts, keeving; fermentation finished in bottle, ancestral method
- Ageing: 30 months on fine lees in bottle; disgorged Feb 2025
- Style: gently sweet, fine mousse — an aperitif cider, or dessert's best friend
5.5% vol · 750 ml · contains sulfites
Note: the domaine gained organic certification in 2023; this 2020 vintage was farmed the same way but predates the certificate.
