Centopassi Pietre a Purtedda da Ginestra Terre Siciliane IGT 2014 (Organic) (1x75cl)

The vineyard it is in the historically famous Portella della Ginestra (see below) from the grape varieties Nerello Mascalese 70% and Nocera 30% grape varieties. The grapes are destemmed and the maceration it i roughly done in 12 days with a fermentation at controlled temperature. The maturation it is in new and old 500 liters Tonneaux casks for 18 months. The fruit is elegant and ripe, with an attractive smoky hint. There's an overwhelming sense of freshness, vitality and elegance in this wine – and the Etna trademark minerality is present and correct, together with lots of red fruits notes. Portella della Ginestra History The Portella della Ginestra (Monreale) massacre was one of the more violent acts in the history of modern Italian politics, when 11 people were killed and 27 wounded during May Day celebrations in Sicily on May 1, 1947, in the municipality of Piana degli Albanesi.
