René Bouvier Bourgogne Le Chapitre Suivant is a Pinot Noir variety red wine produced by the René Bouvier winery in the AOC Bourgogne.
René Bouvier is a family winery that has been run by Bernard Bouvier, third generation of the family, since 1986. Although to begin with they focussed on the fashion of modern wines with a lot of extraction, they now produce much more delicate and organic wines and have been awarded the Ecocert certification. They are notable for a much more moderate use of new wood and a more defined choice of wine maturity.
René Bouvier’s vineyards stretch over 18 denominations in Burgundy. A total of 13 hectares planted with Pinot Noir and 4 with Chardonnay. In the case of René Bouvier Bourgogne Le Chapitre Suivant, the grapes come from old 50-year-old strains planted in clay-calcareous soils between Marsannay and Gevrey Chambertin (Burgundy). Through the Ecocert certificate, they use environmentally friendly organic agriculture methods.
Once in the winery, the René Bouvier Bourgogne Le Chapitre Suivant grape is destemmed and undergoes a long maceration. It then ferments in tanks made of different materials. Finally, it ages in French oak barrels.
René Bouvier Bourgogne Le Chapitre Suivant is a red wine with an excellent balance of fruit and wood that is very pleasant to drink.
