GROWING SEASON & VINEYARD DETAILS Abundant winter rainfall provided full soil profiles to start the growing season. A uniform and short bloom period coupled with cool growing temperatures through the early part of the season ensured even development with little variation throughout the vineyard blocks. Early summer temperatures were cooler than normal, while the end of summer brought temperatures with consistently warmer daytime and evening temperatures. All these factors culminated in full phenolic ripening, resulting in wines that have beautiful, deep color, balanced tannic structure, and round mouthfeel with soft acidity. TASTING NOTES Vibrant aromas of dark fruit and black currant with hints of sweet spice and toasty oak. Full bodied and full of flavor with a round viscous mouthfeel backed with concentrated tannic structure carry through to a smooth finish. The robust flavors of this wine are a great complement to roasted duck breast, beef tenderloin or short ribs. This starts with creamy aromas of black cherry, vanilla and mocha. The ripe palate offers espresso cream, black cherry sorbet and oaky caramel flavors. Matt Kettmann
