教皇新堡 Châteauneuf-du-Pape

教皇新堡

南隆河最資深嘅產區，園地鋪滿又大又圓嘅鵝卵石（galets roulés），白天吸熱、夜晚放熱。產區容許十三個葡萄品種；實際上大部分酒以歌海娜（Grenache）為主，後面配西拉同慕維得爾。

呢度有咩

絕大多數係紅酒。另有少量白教皇新堡，用 Grenache Blanc、Roussanne、Clairette 同 Bourboulenc 釀成——好罕有，遇到值得一試。呢度冇 cru 或者分級制度：酒莊名係唯一指引，而頂級同平庸之間嘅落差好大。

期望值

暖氣候、酒體飽滿、酒精度高——14.5% 以上係常態，唔係缺陷。呢啲係冬天嘅酒、配菜嘅酒，唔適合做開胃酒。如果教皇新堡已經超出你嘅預算，隔籬嘅 Gigondas 同 Vacqueyras 用同樣品種，價錢大約一半，再下面仲有 Côtes du Rhône Villages。

飲用與陳年

16–18°C，提早一小時醒酒。大部分酒莊喺第五至第十年飲用最好；認真嗰批可放二十年。白教皇新堡 11–13°C，而且要麼趁年輕飲、要麼放十年後飲——中間有一段封閉期。
